BloomU Tennis clinches postseason spot at Kutztown

Huskies drop Golden Bears 4-3 to secure place in the PSAC

In a decisive victory against the Kutztown University Golden Bears, the Bloomsburg University tennis team has earned themselves a spot in the postseason. By a narrow 4-3 win, the Huskies managed to grab the fourth and final spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). With their victory, the Huskies sport an overall record of 6-6 and 2-3 for their conference.
This past Saturday’s match would prove to be a battleground as both teams found themselves walking into the contest with conference records of 1-3. Despite taking an early 1-0 lead by winning two of the three doubles matches, it was Bloomsburg that would have the last laugh and earn themselves a spot in the postseason.
The Huskies will be hosting this week, as they first square off against Wilkes University on Thursday, April 25 and then hosting West Liberty University on Saturday, April 27. They will be playing these matches on their home turf of Burt Reese Tennis Center. These matches are non-conference matches and serve as merely warm-ups for the real contest of the postseason.
Their PSAC semifinal match will be held on Friday, May 3. This match will also be held in Bloomsburg, hopefully they will be able to use the home field to their advantage and prove successful in postseason play.
