This fall Bloomsburg has announced their 2024 athletic hall of fame inductees. This marks the 42nd class inducted into the hall of fame.
The inductees include:
Jen Bryan class of 2003, Women’s Basketball
Bryan played four seasons with the lady huskies. She helped the Huskies have a 77-34 record. Bryan won back to back first team selections in 2002 and 2003. She finished her career with 1,116 points. She holds many records for the Bloomsburg Huskies. Bryan’s team went to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) four times.
Nicole Hartnaft class of 20004, Field Hockey
Nicole Hartnaft played field hockey during a successful four years. During this time she helped her team have a 21-0 season. She helped her team win back to back NCAA championships in 2002 and 2003. As a player Hartnaft has over 100 points to her name. She finished her career at Blooms burg with 114 points. Between those points came 45 goals and 24 assists.
Christine Krebs class of 2001, Women’s Soccer
During her time on the field her team won two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conferences (PSAC). Her career lasted from 1997-2000. In this time Women’s Soccer had a record of 63-13-7. Krebs Junior year was a record setting one. She scored 73 with 22 goals that season. She also holds a school record for scoring 50 points in a single season.
Pete Rinella class of 1995, Wrestling
Rinella had a record setting career during his four year career. Individually he went 80-33-1, with his team they went 30-35–3 dual meet records across four years. Rinella ended up becoming team captain his senior year. He was ranked fourth in the nation at 118 pounds and won a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) his senior year.
Vanessa Sterner class of 2002, Softball
With her four seasons in a Husky uniform Sterner helped her team to four back to back appearances in a NCAA tournament. The star third baseman was a four-time All- PSAC East first team selection at third base. During her time her team went 174-38-1 across four seasons. They won a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) during this time.
All inductees had memorable athletic careers during their time at Bloomsburg. With many championships won and many records set in their respective sport. Including the five new inductees the Hall of Fame now has a total of 213 members. Each athlete will be recognized on October 13th for homecoming and parents and supporters weekend ceremony.
