The Bloomsburg University women’s lacrosse team bounced back from a 11-10 loss to Millersville on March 29 with a 5-3 victory over Slippery Rock on April 1. Junior midfielder Taylor Turner (left) fights through two Slippery Rock defenders as she attempts a shot on goal. Turner, who has 13 goals on the season, was held scoreless in the matchup and finished the game with just one shot on goal. Turner was able to bounce back as she netted 3 goals in an April 4 match-up against West Chester.
Brigid Kyne breezes by a Slippery Rock defender during a Bloomsburg fast break on her way to the net. Kyne’s lone goal in the match helped BU take a 3-1 lead over Slippery Rock early in the first period. The senior midfielder, and one of Bloomsburg’s leading scorers, had some difficulty finding the net as Slippery Rock boasted a formidable defense. However, Kyne’s 19 goals and 7 assists in just 10 games has equated in 26 points, which leads the women’s lacrosse team. Kyne continued her scoring ways with 2 goals in BU’s April 4 win over West Chester University. The team is now 6-4 on the season.
