Upcoming IMAGE auditions encourages to ‘keep your hands up’!

Gabrielle Reyes, Features Editor

Reaching out to all ASL lovers! If you love ASL and music, this on-campus group is for you! IMAGE is a performance group who translates music into ASL. On October 1st, we are having open auditions for all ASL levels to possibly join in.

We ask to have an original translation of one verse and one course of a song of your choose ready to be performed. This group is not just for ASL interpreting majors but open to all majors and those involved in ASL.

As a group, we will travel to different places such as New York, Pittsburgh, and eastern Pennsylvania to perform. You will find IMAGE to be a lot of fun while gaining valuable hands on learning experience. You will develop a skill of translating music to ASL and how that process is done. In that process, you will build on your ASL vocabulary. IMAGE is also a second family to many and an extra support system throughout your years here. We meet a few times during the week to practice for our big show at the end of spring semester.

Again, the auditions will be held on October 1st from 9:30PM – 10:30PM at Bakeless 207. We are excited to see what everyone comes up with. It is important to not be scared but enjoy yourself!
