As the semester begins, another team begins its journey to the top of the mountain. The Bloomsburg Club Soccer team is gearing up for another run at the conference championship. The team hopes to build on a strong season last year and further build on the program’s history.
The team’s foundation has been built through the years by the team’s previous members and their accomplishments. The legacy that has been built through years of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. This year’s team hopes to continue it’s legacy by putting some hardware in the trophy case. All of the pieces have been put into place for team success in this campaign.
The team is optimistic going into their season, due to their strong leadership from senior members such as Tyler Berardi. Tyler is a senior outside defensive back who has been with the team for three years. Though he is coming off of a rough year, where he was unable to play a lot due to injury. His inability to play however allowed him to take a mentorship role and gain a great observation on the team.
“I’m very optimistic heading into this season, Last year I believe we all played really well and got some really good results.” This year’s team has many players that are able to play multiple positions, which allows a large breath of relief as they don’t have to worry about a handful of injuries stifling their season.
With a new school year, the team gets a new influx of freshmen that has injected a youthful spirit into the program. These new players will hopefully be the difference and push them over the top, “We have a lot of really talented guys on the team, especially some of the new additions, so we’re hoping to compete for that top spot finish this year that we fell short of last year.” With the preseason coming to an end, members are very excited. The new class of freshman has created a very competitive dynamic to the team.
As the team embarks on their season, they hope to fulfill their hopes for the season and live up to their potential bringing the championship to Bloomsburg. The team’s past history hopes to be used as a guiding light to find success. As the team seems as strong as ever, they hope to put themselves in the driver’s seat of the conference.
