Hurricane Lee, the category three hurricane barreling towards the East Coast, is still in a range that is making it difficult to pin-point it’s path.
While the hurricane has been growing quickly, it is predicted to lose intensity throughout Wednesday September 13th and Thursday September 14th due to moving into slightly colder waters that were spun up by Hurricane Franklin earlier in the month.
Even though Lee is projected to lose some of its strength, it will—at the same time—be growing in size and begin to move faster as it grows. This means that it could impact a more widespread area than the originally predicted Bermuda.
Even though it is not projected to hit most of the East Coast, the winds will be affecting the seaboard states.
Some places are to keep an extremely watchful eye out due to the unknown path of Lee, as it could hit land in northern most states such as Maine and into Canada. While Pennsylvania might not be affected directly, we are in range to get some of the rain and wind gusts as a result of Lee.
Winds are looking to project over 300 miles from Lee’s eye, meaning there is room for potentially damaging winds towards the end of this week.
From Maryland up through coasts of Connecticut and Massachusetts could see massive waves and life-threatening rip currents. Weather specialists advise any and all persons to avoid the water, and beach in general, during the rest of this week into the beginning of next week.
