Episode One
Episode one of Bloomsburg Survivor Season two aired September 17, 2024, with 30 students. This season’s energetic beginning brought forth a lot of unexpected twists and turns.
After brief first impressions, the castaways voted for two players to give a pregame advantage to. Then it was time to play. The first game of the season was Gaga Ball. All 30 Castaways competed in the game and the four winners became this season’s four team captains.
The winners and four team captains were: Green Gator A: Gianna Corropolese; Green Gator B: Erin Ranegan; Yellow Python C: Trey Sterling; and Yellow Python D: Lee Habalar. Each of these captains were given a golden puzzle piece necklace that acts as an immunity idol. Each team captain took their pick of players and ended up with teams of 7-9 players.
In a new twist, each castaway was given a key. These “Safety Advantage Keys” are a unique item that can be played until episode 8. The rules state, “Safety Advantage Keys allow castaways to try for a 1 in 6 chance of getting immunity before a vote at any TC meeting. They get to pick one of the six envelopes. If they choose the envelope with the immunity reward in it, then they decide who they want to play it for—themselves or someone else right there and then. If they selected an envelope without the immunity reward in it, then they get nothing AND they lose their vote for that specific TC meeting.”
The immunity challenges started off with a game of Don’t Drop The Mic. Each team sent one player per round to compete. The goal was to keep your team’s plastic mic off the ground. After an intense face-off, the winners were Python C and Python D.
The two losing teams of the first immunity challenge faced off for last in a game of “Fill Me Up Bean Bag Cup.” The challenge was a three-part relay race, concluding in the loss of Gator B.
With their win, Gator A captain Gianna Corropolese chose Gator B captain Erin Ranegan to go on a Private Journey, after which was the season’s first Tribal Council. Carlos Stubblefield was voted out of Gator B.
In challenge three, all four teams had to keep wooden squares raised above their heads. After Gator A and Python D dropped their boards, they headed to the second Tribal Council of the night to vote off two players. Python D’s Ryan Flatley and Gator A’s Elizabeth Shillabeer were voted off, leaving the game with 27 Castaways.
Episode 2
These 27 Castaways started off episode 2 with a game of deal or no deal for an episode 2 advantage. This episode the two teams were combined into two. Python and Gator. With Gator losing more players in the season premiere, Python had the advantage going into the episode. The first challenge was a 12v12 game of capture the flag, with Gator ultimately taking the win and sending Python to the tribal council. In the end, Lauren Masser ended up being voted off of the show.
With challenges having a 12-player per team limit, Gator sat out three players for the next challenge of a relay race consisting of frisbee throwing, transporting water with sponges, and putting together puzzles. Python continued their dominant winning streak, sending Gator to yet another Tribal Council. The next Gator voted off was Anna Drucis, while Claire Schmoke used a hidden idol for herself.
The episode’s third and final challenge was a one-on-one tug of war. After 10 points, Gator finally won a challenge, resulting in Python making the choice to vote off Dylan Ciarello, leaving this season with 24 players.
