Commonwealth University President Bashar Hanna addressed the $4M verdict in a wrongful termination lawsuit at a CU Town Hall.
Sandwiched between conversation about the deficit, Hanna brought up the verdict. He acknowledged the “highly publicized” verdict and trial to the CU community.
“PASSHE, Bloomsburg University, Bashar Hanna, and our former provost were found responsible.”
Despite this comment, Hanna stressed that he is not associated with the verdict.
“The verdict was not associated with Bashar Hanna or anything Bashar Hanna did.”
Yet, he did acknowledge the sexual harassment allegations made against him, which played a pivotal role in the storyline leading to the termination of the former Bloomsburg dean.
“Yes, I was accused of sexual harassment back in Fall of [2017]. That accusation was investigated by PASSHE’s Chief Investigator and one of the attorneys. There was no finding of sexual harassment. Although, in my attempt to comfort a distraught colleague, my attempt to comfort her was found to be unwelcoming. I live with that every day.”

Bloomsburg faculty and administration should have the same zero tolerance that the university applies to greeks.

Wait until the transcripts containing the witness’s testimony is released. You will see that President Hanna was accused of much more than “comforting a distraught colleague.”
I was the Attorney for Dean Krug so I know a lot. The trial transcripts will be available soon. Stay tuned.
