Episode 7:
Episode 7 opens with the remaining twelve breaking into pairs to prepare for the first event, “A Running Crime Scene.” This challenge was a relay race with four parts. In part one, players ran in a given lane with an inflatable body bag and had to memorize numbers on the back of a tombstone. Once they reached their partner, they handed off the bag, and this second player had to find a tombstone with a separate code on it.
Then, the players met up to move on to part two. To start part two, teams found their assigned lockbox and used the codes they got earlier to open them. After taking the lockbox, players ran from the track to the football field and began part three in the endzone. Part three began with players opening their box and finding eight eyeballs inside. Players had to throw their eyeballs into their assigned letter.
The goal was to hit three Halloween targets with a ball and then get the rest into their assigned area. Once finished, the pairs moved on to the final part of this first challenge. Players had to gather 12 skeleton bones from one end zone and reassemble the skeleton at the 50-yard line. The first team to complete the relay and the winners of the challenge were Jack Holcombe and Hope Garavaglia.
This sent the other players to the episode’s first Tribal Council. There was a safety advantage key played that rewarded Holy Masi with immunity, and Trey Sterling used an immunity idol on himself. It was Tatiana Beckworth who was voted out this time.
The next challenge was “Go Long and Stack It Up.” In this challenge, players were eliminated in three phases. In part one, the eight players who jumped the farthest went to round two. In part two, the players were divided into pairs randomly and passed a football back and forth to get it to the other end zone. The final four players faced off in part three. In this section, players hunted down their mini pumpkins and stacked them. The first one to stack 7 in a row would win immunity. It was Jake Casella who walked away with immunity.
The second tribal council resulted with Trey Sterling gaining an immunity item, and Holly Masi played an idol nullifier, which was ineffective due to no idols being played. Holly Masi was voted out in the end.
The final immunity challenge of the night was “Touchy Subjects—Let’s Spill the Tea.” In this challenge, players tossed footballs into a net and hoped they fell into boxes that awarded different levels of points. Next, they played a game where a question was asked and castaways answered with other player names; anyone who answered the same name gained a point, and the first to 10 points won the game. Chase Shutt was the winner and immune at the last Tribal Council of the night.
After multiple items were played, Trey Sterling was the 21st castaway voted off this season.
Episode 8:
With nine players left, the eighth episode of Survivor began with a three-part immunity challenge. In part one, titled “A SURVIVOR Story Trivia Race, Season 1 host Jacob Dill read the Castaways, a story from the TV show. Upon completion of the story, castaways raced to different trees around the quad to answer questions from memory about the story. If correct, they got a point.
Castaways were eliminated if they entered into a section another castaway was already in, if they had more than one answer sheet at a time, or if they did not remain behind the judging table upon completion of the challenge. Gianna Corropolese, Chase Shutt, Jack Holcombe, Lee Habalar, Anthony Witczak, and Erin Ranegan were the winners until evidence arose that showed Erin breaking the rules.
She was subbed out for Brady Armstong as the final winner of the challenge. Part two started with “Goose Chase OVAL TAG.” In this competition, the players split into two teams connected by a long rope. The team had to move clockwise around an oval to capture the other team’s flags hanging from their waist.
The winners of this part were Lee Gabalar, Jack Holcombe, and Anthony Witczak. Part three put our castaways against each other with duplicate wooden labyrinth games. The first player to complete their task was safe from the next tribal council. The winner was Lee Habalar. That sent everyone else to the first tribal council of the episode. Jack Holcombe was saved by an immunity reward, and it was Anthony Witczak who was voted off.
In challenge two of the night, there was another multiple-part game with two immunity idols up for grabs. Part one was “Don’t Scramble My Eggs!” where Castaways had to answer trivia questions about the season so far. Once a question was answered correctly, the Castaway who answered correctly got to take an egg from another player (each were given 12) and break it. The last person with any eggs left was the winner, and in this case, it was Brady Armstrong. Part 2A was called “Duck Hunt” and had our seven castaways searching for ducks hidden among cones on the quad. The last player to find two ducks was eliminated. There were three players moving on to Part 2B; Lee Habalar, Chase Shutt, and Gianna Corropolese. Part 2B was Disc Golf, with the winner being Chase Shutt.
In the last tribal council of the night, multiple unique items were used, and Lee Habalar was voted off.
