As the leaves on the quad begin their change to gold and maroon in anticipation for the first kick off of Bloomsburg’s 2025 football season, let’s look back on the career of one of Bloomsburg’s most decorated football alumnus: Jahri Evans.
Hailing from Philadelphia, Evans began his Bloomsburg legacy in 2003 as a full-time starting offensive left tackle. Off the field, Evans majored in exercise science, earning his degree in 2007 and his MBA in Executive Business Administration from the University of Miami in 2017.
In 2006, Jahri Evans entered the NFL Draft where he was picked 108th overall in the fourth round by the New Orleans Saints. This marked the first player from Bloomsburg to be selected in the draft since 1992. In 2009, the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV over the Indianapolis Colts. Only missing nine games in his career, Evans played 183 regular season games and 10 playoff games as right guard for the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2016 and the Green Bay Packers for his final season in 2017. As of today, Evans works with the Saints as the Assistant Offensive Line Coach.
