Dorm Cookin’

Gabrielle Reyes, Features Editor

This week we have another recipe to add to your The Voice Cookbook: Munchie Nachos. With just a few simple ingredients, you will have a delicious snack to devour yourself or share with your roommate.

Munchie Nachos

Ingredients:

Bag of tortilla chips
Shredded Mexican blend cheese
1 can Refried beans
Guacamole cup
Salsa
Sour cream

To start this super easy recipe, you will need to grab a microwaveable bowl or plate for your meal. Scatter your chips onto your dish. Then, place the beans in the microwave for 30 seconds to heat them up. Afterwards, place them on top of the chips.
You can place as many spoonfuls of beans as you wish. Next, add a generous amount of salsa on top of the mix. Finally, sprinkle some of your shredded cheese evenly on top of your nachos. Microwave it for about one minute.
The final part is to add the toppings. Both guacamole and sour cream can be measured to your preference.

Quick Tip

Many of our recipes are “throw-it-together” concoctions. You can simply buy the ingredients and just throw it together, making yourself a delicious meal.
For this specific recipe, you can incorporate lettuce and other vegetables such as olives, corn and tomatoes, making this nacho dish a meatless taco salad! If you wish to make this recipe healthier, you can substitute the ingredients.
Instead of regular tortilla chips, substitute them for the multi grain ones and use fewer toppings. This recipe, like many of our others, are truly customizable to fit your health concerns and dietary preferences.
