The new way to date in 2018 seems to be through dating apps. Meeting new people couldn’t be easier and is literally in the palm of your hand.
There are numerous different dating apps with different purposes. People use dating apps for meeting new friends, a relationship or a sex partner. It still seems to be an idea that people are ashamed of when telling their friends, they met someone online. There are some relationships that can prove it is a place to meet if you want it to be. However, not everyone has those same intentions.
One dating app that needs no introduction is Tinder. Tinder has made a name for itself. The term “swipe right” has come from it. Its original intent was to be for dating, but the dating has turned to almost a joke due to the negative atmosphere. Many people have met their long-lasting relationships on Tinder.
Now, you are hesitant to answer your messages because of the raunchy things that may pop up. Despite the negative opinions on Tinder, people still have this app. The reason is because it has become universal. If you get lucky and find someone who is seriously looking for a partner, you can. But Tinder will always be the place to meet someone who is down for a night cap. Ever since Tinder has developed, STI’s have skyrocketed. No matter what you do whether you meet them online or in person, use protection.
Some dating sites and apps that have been some- what successful are “Hinge” and “Feeld.” These apps are used for two completely different reasons. Hinge is an actual dating app where you can ask questions to understand the persons personality and interests. Some questions you may be asked are “Who is your ideal celebrity dinner date?” or “What are you looking for?” The people looking on your profile will have the ability to like your answers to these questions and message you, instead of swiping left or right.
“Feeld” is an app for those who know what they want sexually. Other people who are also on it have the same wants in mind. If you are careful as stated before, then there is nothing to hide. Some individuals have surprisingly found their long-term partners on Feeld. You never know unless you try it.
Facebook is currently conducting a test trial for a select group to experience their new dating profiles. On Facebook, if it passes, you could have your normal personal profile for you friends and family, and another for dating. You may have the option to include your location, gender and interests in a partner. This feature is not out yet due to testings and trials. But if it does, would you find this to be a good idea?
Lastly, for those who are already in a relationship and have no need to have a dating app, there are still apps out there for you and your partner to have fun in. An app called “Couple” gives you the opportunity to feel as if you are on a dating app. You can message each other, send cute stickers, and private photos. This “private photos” feature can disappear or appear as you wish. You can also fill out “to-do” lists together as well as a shared calendar to put in your special dates. It is perfect for those who are long distance and need something fun in the relationship.
In this generation, dating apps to meet people are not uncommon. It can be fun to see you might meet. One dating app is never the same as the next. Don’t be upset if you expected too much from it. If you chose to use it, take precautions and use protection.
