“It was okay.” “It was amazing!”. “I can’t stop thinking about it.” At some point, we had said this about the sex we have had in the past. The type of sex we have can vary on the type of mood we are in. If we choose to have sex in a ‘blah’ mood, then we can expect just okay sex. If we are in a frisky mood, then we can assume you will have mind blowing sex. Average sex can include orgasm but may not be memorable. Mind- blowing sex can include orgasms that will be memorable. Sex is never really like the ones in the movies, but you will always have those few you will to remember forever.
Considering what memorable sex is depends on how much sex experience you have. If you are a person who has daily sex, you may be able to compare some from others making it memorable or not. However, if you don’t have much experience, sex can be memorable for different reasons. If you are one with limited experience, you may not be able to decide if you had great or just okay sex. “Bad” sex is different for everyone. Some may say there is no such thing. It’s truly up to you to decide.
Memorable sex can be because of the type of positions you tried, the setting you was in or intimacy between your partner. Having interviewed a male student, he says he believes good sex is having casual everyday sex with your partner, while great sex can be when your celebrating an anniversary. He also mentions how having sex in places you have never done before can make sex ‘great’ or memorable. The student says how he can’t really think of one particular event when the sex was so memorable because he has so many! He tells us how sex with his long-term partner is almost always mind blowing due to many reasons. From always being spontaneous and fun to having passionate and loving sex. He stated that if he had to choose one, it was when him and his girlfriend was having sex like full blown porn stars. “The sex was wild and dirty and for sure spontaneous. We weren’t planning on having that type of sex but it just happened. The most memorable part was the pounding and thrusts. It was like no other”.
The second person interviewed says she believes sex is great within itself for numerous reasons. It helps release stress, frustration or tension. “Sex becomes great when you decide to take the next step with your partner and get to know them on a deeper and more physical aspect” she says. She also mentions how her first time was the most memorable. The second female we had interviewed mentions also how sex is ‘good’ when you really like that person and you build on your connection with them. Female 2 tells us she is not too experienced and believes any sex with a good connection is considered good to her. She also thinks that sexual partners who only think about themselves and doesn’t think about foreplay or the pleasure on her side, would be considered a bad time.
The third female interviewed agreed with both female interviewee 1 and 2 saying the connection you have with you partner is what makes sex good. She goes on by saying “it creates a bond that helps you understand the person you are having sex with but at the same time your goal is to pleasure each other which makes it a memorable experience”. She also agrees with the male participant stating, “spontaneous sex is the best because it’s exciting when you’re not expecting something”. The most memorable sex she has had was when her boyfriend surprised her with a night away to a hotel in the city. In their hotel room was full of flowers and sex toys. She explains how the flowers made her feel special and the sex toys was a reassurance of him wanting her to feel good.
Everyone has their own reasons for why sex is mind-blowing and memorable. No one is ‘bad’ at sex because it depends on what matters to you. Timing, mood, communication, connection, and spontaneity are just a few ways people consider sex good. What makes sex mind blowing for you?
