In opening round of PSAC’s, West Chester tops BU in both field hockey and women’s soccer

On Tuesday, Oct. 31, both the field hockey and women’s soccer teams of Bloomsburg University traveled to West Chester University for the opening round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference playoffs. Both games resulted in 1-0 shutout wins by the Golden Rams, ending the seasons of both Bloomsburg teams.

The fifth-seeded BU field hockey team finishes the season with a 10-9 record, while the eighth-ranked women’s soccer team ends 2017 at 9-6-3.
Meanwhile, the BU men’s soccer team concludes the regular season at 5-12. Although the men’s team did not qualify for the PSAC tournament, they ended on a two-game win streak that featured two shutouts.

A total of 12 seniors will graduate from these three teams – seven from men’s soccer, two from women’s soccer, and three from field hockey.

Senior Brooke Zeiders finished second on the BU field hockey team with 19 points on eight goals and three assists.
