The Bloomsburg University men’s basketball team could not find any late game magic on Wednesday night as it dropped its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup to Kutztown University by a final score of 89-80.

With the loss, the Huskies drop to 8-12 (5-9 PSAC) thus far this season while the Golden Bears improved to 9-11 (7-7 PSAC).

Mauras led the Huskies in scoring on Wednesday night with  25 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double on the night. Junior Max Wagner came next on the stat sheet for the Huskies with 12 points of his very own.

A combined 48 point night between the Golden Bears’ Tarojae Brake and Wesley Butler seemed to be too much for the Huskies as just two Bloomsburg players finished the game with a double-digit point total.

The Huskies will now look ahead to this Saturday when they continue their road trip and conference play with a 3:00 tip-off against the Marauders of Millersville.

Bloomsburg now sits eighth in the eastern division standings ahead of just Mansfield, who the Huskies were defeated by earlier this season.

With just eight games left to play, BU will need to get things going with the postseason approaching.
