The Bloomsburg Women’s Soccer team heads into a pivotal week, as they prepare to right the wrong to bounce back from a recent loss. Natalie Holmes, the Graduate Assistant had this to say about the recent game, “Well, out last result was a loss which wasn’t ideal going into our bye weekend so we’re trying to right ourselves this week”. The team leaves their bye weekend with a new sense of urgency from their hard fought loss against Lock Haven. With two very strong opponents this week, the team is attempting to reload and refocus to face these challenges.

The team’s setback has only fueled their motivation to perform at their best in their next match against Kutztown. This Kutztown team is undefeated, which only adds to the hype between the two teams. This game, which will be held at Kutztown, will be a true test of this Bloomsburg team’s abilities, but the team is hopeful. The team is led by a great group of seniors, headed by Goalkeeper Riley Springer. Springer has been crucial to the success of the team thus far, consistently coming up with huge saves. The team has been able to rely on Springer who is credited with 33 saves on the season. Another senior who has been a foundational piece of the team is Senior Lauren Bull. Bull is a strong offensive weapon for the Huskies, with a great ability to put shots on goal and open up the offense for her teammates. These seniors will be a major key to success for these upcoming games.

Following the Kutztown game, the Huskies will quickly shift their focus to their upcoming clash against a tough West Chester team on Saturday. With games in rapid succession, it is a huge benefit for the team to have the depth that it does. The Huskies depth has proven to be a significant asset this season. The team has a very talented group of young players that are chomping at the bit to prove their abilities on the field. With the guidance of the senior members of the team, these young athletes are placed in a great position to grow their abilities on and off the field. This ability to rotate and maintain a high level of performance throughout the week will be a testament to the hard work that they put in both on and off the field. This feat will also show the level of preparation that the team has from Coach Matt Haney.

With the support of their passionate fan base and the belief they have in their abilities, the Bloomsburg Women’s Soccer team is more than ready to face the challenges that lie ahead. Their strive for redemption after their previous outing coupled with their strong preparation after a bye weekend puts them in a great position to bounce back. The matches against Kutztown and West Chester this week will allow them to prove how mentally tough this team is. This team is very excited to continue the excellence that previous teams have laid the foundation to, with two PSAC Championships and multiple NCAA tournament runs in previous years under Head Coach Matt Haney. Bloomsburg fans are eagerly waiting these matchups, hoping to see this team continue to climb towards yet another PSAC Championship.
