Quite frankly, I’m just kind of appalled at the behavior of the President and more so I’m also appalled at the Board of Trustees and just whoever manages the school for not doing anything about it.”

“I’m not really happy about him. I feel like his past decisions had made a huge impact on Commonwealth, and I definitely saw it in the four years of being a student here, a lot of students were affected, and a lot of organizations. I’m just worried for the future of Commonwealth. I feel like he should step down and take accountability for his actions. We can find a new president. I just feel like keeping him as president for the last four years, after everything he’s done, was— I don’t know, it just felt like… what were we hiding? What were we even doing in the process? It felt like we were just stalling.”

“I think he’s doing a poor job of communicating the information that we’re actually asking for as far as transparency, as far as we’re taking on a lot of debt, and we’re being told that there’s a plan for it and everything is accounted for, but we have no idea what this plan is, what the long term vision is, to manage that debt and to keep us from going under. I don’t know accounting, but I would expect that there’s a way to explain this to the common student.”

“I believe he should step down. Ever since I’ve gotten here, he has just been ruining the campus from the sexual assault allegations to the way he manages stuff. He does not do even an okay job. Dr. Bashar, if you are reading this, just leave.”

“I am confused about why he is still here, considering that the President of the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculty called for Dr. Bashar Hanna to either immediately step down or be fired. So, I’m confused about why he’s still here. I could understand waiting until the end of the semester, but now it’s a whole new semester—so why not start the hiring process? I haven’t heard anything about that. I could even understand waiting to fire him until they find a replacement, but there’s been no word on that either. Meanwhile, he’s still tarnishing the Bloomsburg name, sorry, Commonwealth name.”
