Every year since 1855, Bloomsburg hosts the famous fair where thousands of people gather. Coming from New York, I had no idea what this was freshman year.
People from all over come together and participate in the numerous activities held there. Senior Maryluz Morales from New Jersey, loves to go for the fried oreos and funnel cake. Both juniors from Pennsylvania, Cayla Frontino and Taylor Berger, agree that the fried oreos are known to be great at the Bloomsburg Fair. Hannah Mendygral, a junior from Wilkes-barre, mentions her favorite part is walking around with friends trying as much delicious foods as she can.
Sammi Wade and Kristen Pepe, juniors from Long Island, New York, say the fried apple dumplings are to die for. Kristen also likes to participate at the games. She was excited to share her victory at the race horse game that led her to her new stuffed animal friend “Henry the Elephant”. Monica Betancourt says her favorite activity to experience is the museum and history of how the fair became what it is today.
This year 400,707 people attended the fair. Even through traffic flooded the streets for a week, it was well worth it. We hope you had the chance to experience the fair. If you hadn’t, you can always go next year!
