Passersby are subjected to peering through a fence towards the ongoing construction.

What’s happening?

  • McCormick renovations are about 66% of the way completed
  • Construction is expected to be completed by summer of 2025
  • CU Bloomsburg Planning and Construction offices are currently working with state approved vendors for furniture selection
  • The second and third floors are currently being insulated and tiled

Construction is to conclude at the end of 2024, with the process of decorating and furnishing the building to start early 2025.

The approximately $22 million dollar renovation welcomes new space for nursing, education, and criminal justice majors, along with the anticipated Kirby Confer Media Center. Emil Mikle, Assistant Director of Facilities for Planning and Construction, states that as of right now faculty and staff will be able to “[move back] after spring semester in 2025, via moving contractor.”

The construction schedule relies on the efficacy of supply shipment delivering materials for the project. Mikle suggests that a delay in delivery of electrical equipment could cause a possible halt in progress, but as of publishing no such issues have arisen.
