Homecoming is already around the corner and Bloomsburg University is ready to start the weekend off with fun activities to celebrate. Every year the university host annual events to bring current students and the alumni together during the weekend. With that being said BU decided to do something new and exciting this year to kick off the weekend right. The dedication of Soltz Hall will be on Friday October 6 at 11 a.m. at the front steps of the building and the event will conclude with fireworks at the Academic Quad for the first time ever at 10 p.m. The fireworks will be part of the It’s Personal campaign finale. The event is open for the public and anyone is welcome to come. The next morning will be the annual BU Homecoming Parade at 11 a.m. starting at the Geisinger Hospital ending at the Bloomsburg Town Park. During that time the Alumni Tent Party will occur at the Academic Quad. The Homecoming football game will take place later that day at 2:30 p.m. The football team will play against Kutztown University at Redman Stadium and the crowning of the King and Queen will take place during the game at halftime. Other BU sport teams besides football will have games as well like the men’s and women’s swimming team. The team will hold their alumni meet at the Nelson Field House pool on upper campus on October 7, at 11 a.m. while the field hockey team will host Mercyhurst University at Steph Pettit Stadium at the same time at11 a.m. So make sure to check out any of the fun activities that BU will have this weekend to celebrate Homecoming.
