Sanow Out as Men’s Basketball Coach

Bloomsburg University Athletic Director Dr.Michael McFarland announced that John Sanow head men’s basketball coach contract will not be renewed for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The Huskies are coming off an 5-21 overall record and just an 4-18 record in conference play.

Sanow finished his coaching career with a record of 171-232 as head coach. Sanow also finished as the second winningest head coach for Bloomsburg with 171 wins. Also, under Sanow the

Huskies have gone onto the PSAC Tournament six times. In 2011-12 Sanow had one of his best years as head coach going 19-9 and won the PSAC East Coach of the year.

Snow had more than 25 years of coaching experience before arriving in Bloomsburg as the head coach.

This will be an important offseason for Bloomsburg as they look for a new head coach and try to build the basketball team. For a successful 2022-23 season. Also, students have lobbied for the school to hire assistant Micheal Hamlin as next head coach for the Huskies. The school announced Information on the position and timeline for the basketball search will be forthcoming.
