Everyone has this particular thing we will be discussing. It comes in different textures and colors. Whether you like it or not, you have pubic hair. It is something you can’t run away from.

For some odd reason, pubic hair has become a taboo topic to talk about and something you have to shave because that it is the social norm. However, is having slightly hairy or trimmed hair truly a deal breaker for sex?

The styles of pubic hair has changed throughout the years. The 60’s and 70’s were all about letting the bush grow. The 80’s and 90’s were known for trimming it down.  In the 00’s, the brazilian look took over and hairless woman ran the world. Present day, peoples opinions of pubic hair seems to be on both sides of the debate.

Here at The Voice, we wanted to know the opinion our huskies. We posted on our Instagram story @BUVoice a poll on whether or not people thought pubic hair was sexy. The average answer from our followers was more towards not so sexy. However, it was also close to the middle; which can be interpreted that some people are not bothered by hair.

After asking a female participant, she confesses that due to her sensitive skin, shaving is not something she does often but will trim. Concerning her preferences on her partners pubic hair,   she mentions how she doesn’t care at all if they have hair. She also mentions a good point of how pubic hair is associated as not being clean or dirty which is not the case.

On the other side of the debate, a different female student’s point of view is that pubic hair is disgusting and a huge turn off. She is not a fan of pubic hair because she is so used to shaving it that she feels disgusting with the sight of any hair. She understands that it is a normal thing that everyone has but prefers it to be clean and taken cared of.

This brings us to the fact that pubic hair is there for a reason. Our body needs pubic hair to function properly. It protects your privates from skin abrasions and bacteria.

These points brings up some valuable questions to mind. If people wish to shave everything off on their penis or vagina, does the rules stay the same for the butthole? Is it truly necessary to shave off every hair off your body? Does pubic hair make a difference during sex?
You don’t have to chose hair or no hair. There are other options. For those who enjoys a little hair down there, you

can shave your hair into different shapes. You shave a heart for your loved one or an arrow to give directions. If not, you can bling your ding.
Whether you are pro fro or not, it is important to be open and not so critical. We must respect other people’s choices.
