A new cafe is coming to Bloomsburg, but unlike the other establishments in town, this one will have cats!
Cats in Bloom is a cafe that serves as an adoption platform for local rescues and shelters.
The cafe will not serve food, but patrons are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks as long as they are not shared with the cats.
Cats in Bloom brings cats that have been vetted for house life to the public. It will be open certain days to the public for ages five and up.
The cafe itself, however, is not an SPCA and can’t take rescues directly as they have to be tested for fiv/felv, vaccinated and spayed/neutered.
The cost of entering the cafe is $5 per person, and the funds will be used to maintain the cafe.
If a patron is interested in adopting a little bundle of joy, they can complete a rescue application. A time will then be scheduled later to inspect potential cat parents’ homes to ensure they are safe environments for adoptees.
Cats that are adopted must be kept indoors only and must keep their claws.
Cats in Bloom is currently looking for volunteers. For any questions, contact Sue Beaver at [email protected].
