The Bloomsburg University women’s soccer team had its 13 game winning streak snapped on Wednesday afternoon after a 0-0 double overtime tie with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival West Chester Univeristy.
With the tie, the Huskies overall record is now 15-1-1 (13-1-1 PSAC) while the Rams are now 11-3-2 on the season and 10-3-2 against PSAC opponents.
Bloomsburg still remains undefeated in its last 14 contests and have not let up a single goal in the last five matches. The last goal redshirt junior goalkeeper Jenna Hawkins allowed was all the way back on October 16 against Shippensburg.
Hawkins pushed aside eight shots in the tie, with her biggest save coming with seconds left in regulation to push the match into overtime.
The Huskies only managed to fire two shots on goal throughout the whole 110 minutes of play, coming from Nicole Varano and Megan Callan.
West Chester outshot Bloomsburg by a 22-4 margin in the tie, and held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Huskies last game of the regular season will come on Saturday, November 9 with a PSAC matchup against Millersville at Steph Pettit Stadium.
