The Study goes punk

This past Saturday local bar, The Study, held a punk concert that brought a new sound to Main Street. The unique combination of covers and originals rang through the intimate space. After a few technical difficulties, the night really took off with Pleasure Kills. The band just recently released their new self-titled album.

The frontwoman’s energetic performance kept the crowd excited with her lively expressions and thunderous vocals. The combination of the steady bass guitar, drums and the dynamic lead guitar led to a roaring backdrop for the charged lyrics.

The third band to take the stage was local band Tier 15. The duo, formed in Bloomsburg, describes themselves as an indie/punk rock band and play in local bars and venues.

Although Tier 15 is lacking in numbers, they definitely don’t lack in sound. Their boisterous sound is a mix between covers and originals. Interestingly enough, this is their fourth-last show, so keep your eyes peeled for a possible reunion show in the near future.

The last band that The Study recruited is local favorite Ace The Kings. This alt/punk band from Bloomsburg brought some heat to The Study with some banging originals and some fan favorite pop-punk covers. The crowd was really feeling ATK and couldn’t contain themselves any longer and they erupted into a violent mosh pit. ATK was having just as much the fun crowd in the as they dodged the strays of the circle and jammed on.
